“The prospect of signing up for yoga was a little daunting, but something my body needed after spending much of the pandemic laying around watching tv and endless scrolling through fb. Online yoga offers the advantage of being able to exercise at home, as long as your technology is set up right. The first few sessions were challenging my body to stretch and move in ways long forgotten. Yet the pace and level of the yoga is very gentle and Silva always reminds us not to push ourselves to do things that are painful or uncomfortable. I had become so despondent with the extra kilos piled on during the lockdown that I had stopped looking at myself in the mirror, yet yoga forced me to pay attention to myself and my body, lumps bumps and all. I suppose in order to change something you need to have a perception of what is the starting point. I’m not really super goal oriented, so Silva’s offer of a 5 pack or 10 pack of lessons makes things easy – pay for the lessons and then register for the ones you want to attend on the Bookamat system.
