Friday 2nd October is the full moon. Like all full moons it has some powerful energies. This upcoming full moon is powerful and strong and great for focusing on your will. It is the perfect full moon to set intentions surrounding communicating better with others, and also the perfect time to plant a seed to get any large scales plans in motion.
The month of October also signifies the awakening of the Hindu god Vishnu who has been sleeping for many months. Once he awakens he marries the goddess Lakshmi. Lakshmi is celebrated during the festival known as Diwali.
Vishnu is the preserver. Once he awaken from his slumber he gets to work re-balancing the powers of light and darkness. Vishnu has great strength (bala) and great energy (shakti). He utilises these attributes to keep balance in the universe, to bring justice and fairness to all.
Vishnu asks us to become aware of imbalance in our own lives. Imbalance can lead to ill-health, addictions, weight issues, and other patterns of behaviour that we can begin to observe within ourselves. This month of October I invite you to bring awareness to the imbalances in your life and through mindfulness, meditation and yoga you may begin to understand how to correct some of these imbalances.
Join me for the beautiful practice of Yoga Nidra on Friday 2nd October and start on a journey of self-discovery and inner healing.
