What do Kinfolk Healing do?
We are dedicated to everyone enjoying a positive ageing experience. We provide Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation sessions and programs to help older adults, stressed family carers, nursing staff, or anyone really, to learn the skills needed to live and age well. We conduct gentle yoga classes, online meditation and relaxation sessions, and soon we will be adding yoga therapy to our tool kit.
We give talks and workshops on the research that supports yoga and meditation for healthy ageing and Alzheimer’s disease prevention, to community groups, corporate entities, businesses or retirement villages. Contact us to find out the costs involved.
What makes Kinfolk Healing different?
Generally we don’t want to suffer and yoga (and all it encompasses) provides us with the tools we need to ease suffering. We believe that a healthy body and mind are paramount to living and ageing well. We have decades of experience in providing care, support and information on healthy ageing and are passionate about introducing as many people as we can to Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation as we have experienced the amazing benefits firsthand. We strongly believe that meditation is the answer to individual, community and global health, well-being, and it cultivates compassion for self and all beings.
How do I book in to the classes you offer?
Keep an eye out on our Classes & Events page, Blog page, and our social media pages. Or sign up for our newsletter to find out what we have coming up.
What areas do you service?
Currently we teach yoga and meditation online via Zoom, and in-person classes in Seaford. Workshops are usually held on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
Do I need to buy special clothing to wear for yoga or meditation?
Absolutely no. Just be comfortable but not too loose fitting as it helps if we can see what your arms and legs are doing, and if you fold forwards you may want to ensure your top is not so loose that it rides up. Socks and an extra top are lovely to put on for meditation or for relaxation at the end of a yoga class.
